Write Up 2016 Scotland Cruise Brian H

Well what a fantastic weekend. I want to add my thanks to @Brian H and Sammy (Mrs Brian H) for all the arrangements. It all seemed to go to plan, if it didn't we didn't notice. Great scenery, folks and most importantly the weather was on side as well. Top down all weekend apart from a small 20 min shower. Thanks also to @AGT1953 for the help with the routes. It was great to meet up with lots of new friends and hope we see you all again on the next one. As @Mrs Mint said we added some cruising on to the weekend on the way up we did @Andy McDonnell 's Lakes cruise and on the way back we went through the Yorkshire Dales having stopped off for a night close by Vindolanda (Google it if you've not heard of it). Said goodbye to @Bazza and Jan earlier today and have been 'resting' as I'm shattered. Our total mileage was 1275 - small change compared to some I think. Pics to follow when I've had a chance to look them over a decide which ones to post.

...And what have you done with Dave? He's very quiet!
Been keeping a low profile, well horizontal actually. Resting after a fantastic weekend, shame you couldn't make it Dave. You'd have enjoyed it.

@Mint, Vindolanda is a quality day out and the area in general. Hope it was sunny for you both.

Right were do I start:nailbiting:
Firstly big thanks to Brian & Sammy what a cruise and also ( Andy 1st assistant)
Brian certainly has now raised the bar what an organizer:thumbsup:
a round trip off 1646 miles traveled over 7 days OMG but what fun taking in the Lakes on the way up with Dave & Pauline to Penrith then joining Brian & Linda, Duncan & Hazel, Mike & Rachel for the drive north to Crianlarich to join forces with our Scottish cousins
the cruises on both days were out standing and everybody got on famously over the 3 days,
(The English, Welsh, & Scottish all sat round the table and not one fight was started=))=))=)))
thanks to all concerned you made us feel very welcomed and you also helped to make this cruise what it was.

Dave/Pauline and ourselves then dropped down to Hadrian's Wall & Vindalanda to visit the Roman ruins / museum if you get a chance a must to visit:) we then carried on to the Yorkshire Dales and had a very leisurely drive back to Mint's Estate to stay another night thank you Dave / Pauline your hospitality is outstanding, I have posted just a few snaps with a couple of scenery ones to what a bloody outstanding zedding week.

We were a actually up in Scotland the weekend you travelled up to look at a horse lorry for a mate of Jues. Complete waste of time but we were there!
