May be to make that decision easier have two quarters and one half picture's 3 photos per page.
This would allow the use of 2 landscape and 1 portrait image.
Gail and I were just discussing this and came up with the same format or more flexible format.

@GazHyde - I presume you have to create a TIFF file for the printer. Creating a composite for each month wouldn't be difficult. You can then take suitable crops from the chosen image rather than having 12 that are of the right format and quality. Much more likely to get a better looking result.

By using a composite you can create different layouts for each month , eg a single large image with smaller inserts rather than panels.

I don't mind helping managing the chosen images, doing crops and managing colour space/corrections. More people will get to see their images in print too. That's all assuming folk don't mind a bit of tinkering with their pics of course.

Am just changing my vote for format too having seen the option.
