Just to revive this thread for a moment with a slight twist;

can anyone confirm what’s missing from my toolkit? New to BMW’s but I’m assuming screwdriver and spanner(s) as there doesn’t appear to be either anywhere?
yep, double ended screwdriver and spanner missing, pm me and I can sell you them. Cheers

The OP said he wants to remove the tray under the tray to get at an alarm related module.

What module is under there?

I know of the one in the well below the aeriel. But what's under the tool tray?

Thanks.

Just the tilt sensor in the nearside well in the boot, just the battery connections on the offside, nothing under the tray.

Oddly Godly

My tilt sensor was triggering the alarm, it was completely submerged in water. You find it under the carpet at the rear left of the boot just in front of the rear lights. As others have said the aerial grommet is usually the culprit. The tilt sensor is in a well several inches deep and if water gets in it can't escape. I removed the water with a sponge and the dried with pepper towels.
