Contrary to popular belief and the various libraries of Z3 wiring manuals on the internet, there is a 2002 loom revision and corresponding manual.
All the routes I have followed so far lead to the 2001 2nd edition as being the last Z3 version. Then I found one for sale at $129 from an online tech book seller. Don't think I'll be paying that. Here's the evidence.
It's quite possible because I have been using the 2001/2nd on a Mar 2002 car that it's why I'm getting confused over the use of Pin 3 on the EWS 3D. See here:

Does anyone have a PDF copy of the 2002 ETM they can share with me? Preferably the BMW AG (Europe) version rather than the BMW NA (US) version as they are different but any port in a storm!
I do have a Bentley with wiring diagrams in the back. But a) I prefer to work off something I can zoom into b) I'm up in Swansea for while yet and my Bentley is in Swindon and I want to nail this now! I'm not convinced the Bentley has 2002 diagrams anyhow. In fact I think that's what led me to believe I was using the right one in the 2001/2nd.
