S52 OR S54 ?
The 2.2 is an M54.
S52 OR S54 ?
When you say traction control button....a 2001 Z3 doesn't have a dedicated TC button as far as I know. If you are talking about the DSC, that just applies braking to each of the rear wheels independently to act like 'rear wheel steer' or a very simple LSD. No reduction in engine power as far I am aware. Thanks , much appreciated.
Another query I would like to know , is how much power difference is it with or with out the traction control button on ?
I didn’t realise that it makes a difference to be honest
Michelin Pilot Sport 5.Thanks, budget isn't an issue to be honest , so which one is the best for grip and low road noise , do you recon ?
Just seen this...the breakfast meets (from 09:30 on the 1st Thursday of every month) at Milletts Farm garden centre are popular with any make of car. I usually take a Z3 re-body. There was a Tribute 250SWB from Witney there this month.Hi, Im based in Abingdon , Oxfordshire , any idea where or if there are any Z3 meet ups near me ??
Yes my light has been on for a year now ,i may not care to replace parts if so expensive! I am going to check under rug ,it does get wet1Hi and welcome.
One pair of my grandparents lived in Abingdon for years and my sister is still in Wallingford.
Unless you are VERY lucky, your car will probably have some moisture inside it as it was sat in a garden and it's a Z3! Take up the passenger seat front piece of carpet and check for moisture in the foam and if there is any sign, check the two DSC sensors under the black plastic cover on the floor.
These are the yaw and acceleration sensors for the DSC (dynamic stability control) and corrode and fail if sat in a damp or wet environment.
Yours should be OK at present, as it would fail an MOT if one or other (or both in my case) were faulty as the DSC light would not extinguish on the dash.
If they fail they are extremely expensive to replace (one is around £700 new, the other is £150).
