Not sure if it's just Internet hearsay on the forums with someone one claiming that a hartge grill badge added 50bhp to a m52b28.

Did some googling and all i found were pictures of a hartge badges on Pinterest and no info. It's a street car so thinking there are too many aggressive mods involved?

Anyone know of such a version? And more to the point, what did Hartge do do get it up 50bhp?

I would assume road/performance cams, exhaust, intake and maybe intake manifold. Even with a good map, I wouldn't expect these to make 240.

I believe there is only one genuine Hartge Z3 and that is a 5.0 V8 M Coupe.

Perhaps just Internet rumours.

Caught an e36 thread where a tuner got 244bhp out of his m52b28. S52 cams (+17bhp), m3 exhaust, m3 headers with decay and some minor mods for lambda sensors and the M50 manifold with a custom map. Good gains from. 5200rpm and a loss of only 15lbs of torque below 4000rpm.

The M52B28 is such a tunerble engine. We proved this a few years ago doing Dyno’s at every stage. We just made it shy of the 230bhp the 3.0 has. You can take it further with exhaust manifolds, hi flow cats and cams under drive pulleys etc. Some B28’s have been known to make 270bhp, I hear this is the limit with stock internals.
