My nephew works for a famous Gas Turbine company in Lincoln and he works in some right s$!t holes including the 2 you mentioned Mike. He got stranded in Libya few years ago, he even made the 10 o'clock news one night. He's also worked in some unsavoury places in S.America too. He is away from his wife and kids for long periods and I don't envy him a penny.

No thanks!! All I'm questioning is why, with the price of oil going down daily and the super rich not cutting production, the cost should go up. And it's not the gov't raising the price but the oil co's. That's all!!

Yes Mike, he did. Where he was working he got left by everyone else and luckily found a vehicle and got to a place where he got on a flight out of there. He was lucky.

You've got it wrong. The price was down and going down almost daily, all of a sudden it jumped to prices set by the two different oil co's sold in town here. I know the owners well and it isn't the Gov't of Canada. They would love the prices to go back up because they make more tax money. Alberta has gone from being a surplus gov't to being 7 billion in the red since the price drop. Canada has to find buyers for our oil whereas the yanks have a thirsty population at it's disposal. Thus the drop in the value of my $$ to US$$ which will likely drop to around $.77 to $1us shortly. So purchases from here on in will be shakey for me.

I'm too old to become hateful of people that live next door, to think the world is there to serve me and I'll leave with I don't like America but I do like some Americans and I hope no one here takes offence to my comments. I have many relatives in the USA and although they are good people their views offend me on many fronts in particular their right to bear arms. JIM
