The exhaust used to make a nice "popping" noise but its gone silent now.

Any ideas as I prefered it before

Baffles dislodged?

That happened to me once on a long journey. Roof down, exhaust burbling away nicely and suddenly it all went quiet. Hearing aid batteries expired.

Don’t know the answer to this as baffled myself.

Mine popped and burbled more when one of the sensors was on it way out (it was crank or can, can’t recall but they both go eventually).
New sensors and because it runs properly less popping...maybe your sensor fixed itself

Could also be different fuel - Morrison’s have started doing 97 and that makes my other car pop a lot more than Esso/Tesco for some reason.

Does your back box have the vcc. operated valve in one side, it could be stuck closed? Could be vanos sticking even, this alters the valve timing.

Tony.

Your comment got me thinking ----
Last year my local Shell garage stopped selling V-Power so the only alternative high grade locally was Tesco Millium [?????] I have now filled the last three with V Power and all is back to normal.
Seems to like Shell V Power---not really concerned with price difference on the amount she uses.

That's interesting actually. My Titan Silver 2.2 has never really popped. But it started doing it a couple of weeks back. Thinking about things, it coincided with switching from supermarket fuel to Shell (regular).

I run my 2.2 on Tesco Momentum and she pops and burbles lovely on the overrun;)

So have my previous 2.2s. But this Titan Silver has just never done it in over 5,000 miles and 2 years until the last couple of weeks whne I switched fuel. May just be a coincidence.
