It’s only just had a full service
How many mile since? What has the car done since the service? Has the coolant level gone down?

Tony.

50 miles max.
That's probably what the problem is, being started and not up the running temperature more than a few times. When I sorned my 2.0Z3 when I started it every few weeks it filled the driveway with steam/smoke . The filler cap always grew some crap like yours has but after being used "normally" it cleared up right enough. Has the coolant level dropped?

Tony.

Here’s what I found
The M54 engines do this mayo thing a lot.
I had it on a 50k mile 3yr old e46 with that engine. After proper use went away. They also use oil due to the CCV thingy blocking up (someone will be able to give a more technical explanation but again not terminal at all).

Head gasket not common at all on these but this ‘mayo’ is.

Is it glue or silicone sealant? There is a proper solvent for silicone sealant from DIY stores.

Also acetone has a good go at most stuff. Aka nail polish remover so you'll get a little pot for a £1 from Poundland etc?

Never tried either in quite this way though. So test on a small area etc.

After changing the boot lid and getting locked out.

I had fitted the rear wings. New aerial grommet. Rear lights and put the boot all back together Inc another boot lid. All with new fixings from bmw.

I was pleased with myself.

The ‘biscuits’ could be fun (on the rear only...)
Think they’ll pop off the rim soon enough but fun while it lasts!
