Dan you could have taken a photo in the rain so not to upset us=)) oh good looking Zed thou;)
I did get a few drops up in the mountains for a second. I had to put the top up. Came half way down the mountain and it was fine so I put it back down and shot some more photos. Unfortunately it was such a beautiful location but the sun was not cooperating or the shots would be more brilliant. I bought this car because of this city and climate. I know even mid January we will have evenings where I can put the top down and cruise through the city at night which is a glorious experience. I truly did not know what to expect when I bought this vehicle as I have never been a "car guy". My uncle who owns two vintage restored MG's in Ohio suggested looking into a Z3 when I was considering buying something used, more fun, and a bit more stylish than my ten year old SCION XA. I had a shopping list when I went to look. Z3 2.8 manual, not too many owners, decent milage, never seen snow. I looked for 6 months till I found this at the back of a lot behind the office in "the valley" North Hollywood. It was dusty but the exterior looked good yet 3 out of the 4 emblems were gone. I think that may have freaked alot of people out but I was fairly certain those were an easy replace. They wanted 8995 for it and gave me 4200 trade on my beat up SCION. My mechanic who I have relied on for 10 years owns the M and said he wished I paid about a 1000 less but I think over all it was a fairly good deal as the SCION was running well with 100,000 but exterior was beat up. I put $2000 grand on new tires, struts, breaks, etc. I have not looked back. I love the car more everyday. I appreciate these forums as I thought I was a bit crazy for lusting after this car for so long. But once I began to really be able to drive it I realized it was pure awesomeness. I want to eventually restore the paint on the back and front bumpers, chrome roll bars, new interior carpet, refurb the seats, new stereo and speakers. The internet and forums makes owning something like this for a "non-car" guy a bit less intimidating. I truly enjoy reading how everyone modifies and restores their vehicles. Thanks for all the support and advice.

Hi, Dan, and welcome to the forum from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. The 2 pics from Miller 1098's post are of the both or us driving a 2000 Z3 from California to New Jersey last March. He flew over from Wales to help me with the drive. I think I made him a bit nervous driving over 100 mph while using the video camera. Now isn't that silly. There's a video of part of that I can post later but I have to go to Philly now and will look for it later. Frankie
