Did not want to rain on your parade Gary, but I think that you have made the right decision. Shadow chrome your 78s and put them on with a 12 - 15mm spacer on the rear, they will look superb

I do really like the style 78's, but I prefer them more on other peoples cars... I had considered refurbing mine, but I don't think they will give the look I am going for with my ideas.

As the song goes" you can't please everyone but you got to please yourself" sell all your wheels and you'll be amazed how quick you make that decision on what to put on! JMHO JIM

As always Brian, you are the voice of reason! I'm probably 20 years too old to run that kind of stretch

I've ditched the idea for now, and am tempted to get my Breytons refurbished again, but perhaps in a different style to what I have now. There are so few alloys styles I actually like, to come across ones I actually want is unusual.

Of the remaining choices on my list it leaves either Style 108 or Style 71 split rims. Sets are available mint for £750-1000, or completely whipped for £350-£700 plus the cost of a refurb. Will most likely need new tyres as well. Ho hum...
+1 for the style 71

Do we have a picture with a Z sporting style 71s, just looked them up and don't think I have seen this combo before.

@Brian H - Here is a Z3 with BMW Style 71 Alloys as requested :woot:

These are the 17" version though, and I'd be looking for the 18's.

Nice but really needs some dish at the rear, Z's were made for dishes at the rear!
As they are split piece you could get some deeper barrels for the rear...

Can you do that with 2 piece split rims?

Not sure...I've seen some amazing custom split wheels on the US Z's but not sure how they change the lips exactly.
