Thanks a lot for that guys.. apart from the look were there any advantages / disadvantages to doing this.. ie harder ride, better handling, grounding over speed bumps, uneven tyre wear?
I've had mine on 16's (the original 5 spoke Zstars) whilst lowered. They needs to be spaced out plenty especially at rear other wise looked very odd with the wheels sunken in.
Handled great and still copy with those 'balloon' sidewallls on the 16's
All BMW's wear the rears unevenly. Will do some more when lowered but you can swap the tyres on the rims (if they have 'outside' markings) to even the wear.
Not really an issue if you don't big mileage, most Z's have plenty of tread but the tyres are cracking with age from languishing in the garage anyway.
Clearance will depend on how big the humps around your way!
