I'd try putting a small wedge between the rear side of the glass and the rubber as suggested. Then carefully work it downward until you have a large enough gap to insert something to push the button down. Hopefully this will complete the circuit and the central lock will release! HTH. JIM

If that doesn't work you may be able to carefully remove the clips at the bottom of your rear window along with the bit of handstitching. Then the zip should separate so you can remove the window and reach in to open the door manually. Downside is you then have to reinstall the rear window but it beats a brick through the window! HTH. Or use a piece of string, tie a small loop in the middle of it with a slip knot. ease one end behind the glass until the slip knot is beside the unlocking pin. now carefully loop the slip knot over the unlocking pin and pull it tight with the two ends of the string. Now Pull the unlocking pin up.
This may unlock the door. Sorry if I have not explained this very clearly, it's easy to do might difficult to explain.

Mike

Hope your got your Z unlocked by now :p
Good luck ;)

I have similar issues, sometimes I cant get in so I have to use the other door, but it changes from one side to the other, my silver bar thingy doesn't come up all the way on the drivers side, like you this may be the issue though mine will lock with no problems. im waiting for the sun to come back then its off with the door cards for some well needed lube.

When mine started dicking about like this it turned out to be the c/locking solenoid in the n/s door had failed.

Tony.

My N/S solenoid has failed so I just lock it manually now. Been like it for two years now. Just another job that I need to sort. I'd like to get a grand together and chuck it at the Zed Shed Midlands depot branch limited and get all the niggles sorted out.

Hi @Synclare just a thought but as the boot used to unlock the car is the battery fully charged. try charging the battery as you can get to it from the boot and then try it.

I locked the key for my daughters TT roadster in the car one day and the AA man came out and was amazed at how far he pulled thhe window away from the roof seal to get a piece of wire into the car to retrieve the keys.

any luck getting in your car, when getting something to slide between the glass and the rubber seal try some talcum powder, it does help and not too messy
