Well after a year just visiting the forums really and a Z that has behaved itself, we have just hit 100,000 so what are the recommended checks/changes the forum suggests?
Got some diff oil, just need to get washers
Got a fuel filter
Also think the gearbox oil should be changed

any other thoughts, I would like to get her to 200,000

thanks
Simon

The water pump is a favorite at that kind of mileage. Some people have had serious failures. I changed mine as a precaution at about 104,000 but the old one was as good as new.

Hi Simon, just the first of many as you look after your car. @Bozzy 2.8 turned 100,000, last month I think it was, just a pup.:)

Yes, Water pump, I did at 85,000, it had the original still, so feel that is much safer, spark plugs 20k ago , the MOT advisory note this week has fuel pipe corrosion and play in steering rack inner joints offside, not sure how much of a handful those jobs are?

Inner rack joint is easy, I can loan you a tool to change that Simon or if you would like to you could come over and do it here? Fuel pipe corrosion most likely will need some gentle wire brushing and a liberal coating of grease applied with a 1" paint brush.

What about renewing the plug leads, with age they deteriorate whether they are copper cored or carbon ribbon cored, have they been changed before?

Congrats on the milestone. Apart from whats been mentioned i would just do a full flush through of all fluids and waters. Then just carry on with the servicing at regular intervals Then should easily last another 100k

Yep water pump! We changed all my cooling system components last year after my fan blades failed. Mines not far behind yours at 97000.

Having done the water pump at 85k Simon was the plastic fan blade changed? If not, I would definitely change that. @Grumpy and @GazHyde have both had one break apart (IIRC) and I think Gary's was not very old genuine BMW part too. @Brian H fan got so close that it rubbed on the cowilng due to an engine mounting which had leaked its oil.
