He stated that the above would be the only thing that would take longer than putting the engine in but he saw it as no problem what so ever.
Do you know if he extends the original loom or has one built.

I guess that using the loom from the new engine and joining to the old would work.

I believe they are virtually the same bar some later connections which can be changed. So a 2.8 lump with its ECU will drop in so to speak. Be a good project if you like tinkering @windym.

Hi Lee
Thanks will have a natter with you and Gaz about doing this in stages. Hoping to book my Z into the shed soon for bushes and suspension upgrade.

I guess I can upgrade the front brakes as per @pgunter did. I assume this upgrade is OK with the 2.8 engine upgrade

Not out the box no. You will need an adapter. Which V8? S series or N series ?

Hi thanks Lee so it can be done, using the 2.8 box and diff. Or would a lsd diff be a better option

Again depends on engine. Anything can be done just depends on time and how deep your pockets are. Also an LSD is advisable.

Should be interesting if it is viable, I do need to get the bushes done. So make a start there and up grade the brakes and suspension when I have a clearer picture.
Also @BMBabe what insurance concerns are there?

I need to look in to it!! If its Z3 1.9 engine out and Z3 2.8 engine in we would probably just look in to an increase in /BHP and make a small loading.

is that the S70/2 you are thinking of? If it is, I'd suggest an LSD!
