1.9 BHP

You can get the manifold on ebay for 200 quid and there is also a T3/4 Garret Turbo kit with intercooler and all pipes for 700 quid, you just need to fit it and have it remapped.

I had a z3 with the m43 engine, served me very well, got me enjoying driving again, good on fuel, easy to service, whats not to like, drive and enjoy the car, a z3 with any engine is still fun

Once the 1.9 is on the move it can hussle along only found 1st gear from a standing start is a little slow off the line once into 2nd 3rd its OK.
In higher gears it responds fine.

As Zedonist says you can overcome the 1st gear thing with revs and practice. What I like about the 1.9 is that it takes any launch technique a driver throws at it without complaint and responds beautifully when asked to. JIM

I have to say with the Aluminium flywheel fitted 1st is phenomenal, 2nd is awesome, 3rd amazing and 4th I don't know as I have to slow for the bend coming up...and then it's 2nd...:racecar:

Sure sounds like a well thought out investment @zedonist! Spinning up the DM eats up a lot of power that should make 1st gear a real screamer but I'd think a sharp eye on the tach is needed along with a well coordinated hand foot operation. Wish I could try it out to see the difference. JIM
