Again, @FRANKIE has a tale to tell about a road trip from CA. back to NJ. with a fellow member on here @miller1098 a couple of years ago, which involves a run in with the Police in TX.

Tony.
I will check it out. I worked or lived in 38 states and have plenty to see yet. It’s always an adventure. I see he lives in NJ and that alone is an adventure with the drivers from NYC etc. gotta run with the pack in your mirror or be swallowed up in the scrum lol

Frankie is a really nice guy Mike, he came down to FL. a couple of years ago to visit at our pace in Kissimmee. I first met him in person when he came to a "meet" we arrange in our village here in the UK.

View attachment 76990 View attachment 76991 View attachment 76992 View attachment 76993 hi everyone

Decades long BMW owner and enthusiast. Currently have a twin turbo smile generator, deep sea blue w white leather, 115,000 miles and drive 80 miles one way to work and love every curve of the 20 miles of mountains to get to the Pennsylvania Autobon aka Turnpike which under the protection of my trusted ValentineOne detector I enjoy the occasional high speed run with a exotic supercar it the Bentley owner, & others who take advantage of the best maintained road in America for 44 miles then there is the Schuylkill “Expressway” which is the only way into Philadelphia which is 18 miles of parking lot at times but hey it’s a job. This car rewards every mile with fun and pride in my ride and an average of 27 mpg so yeah I DRIVE it year round and from a snails pace to the against the limiter. That change in your pocket is made where I work likely at the biggest and oldest Mint in the world. The US Mint in Philadelphia. Thanks for having me. Mike
Hi, @Mike Peckenschneider and welcome to the forum from across the river in NJ. Glad to have another member in the forum who knows what Shoofly Pie is. Grew up in South Philly and then in the Northeast but now live in Egg Harbor Towonship right where the GSP and the ACexpy meet. I'm familiar with the area where you work but I've never been into the mint. Almost got a job at Independance Mall as a Park Ranger back in '75 for the bicentennial but was stupid enough to turn it down and go to work for Continental Bank. I could have been retired long ago with a government pension. There's another member that lives a little past you in, I think it's Glendale. We were just talking about a car museum that's in Southwest Philly near the car mall near Pacifico car dealership. There is supposed to be a show or something in May and I said it would be nice to meet him there. If we went and you came also, it would be the first meet of our forum in the US. They're always having meets and curises over in the UK so it's time we did something over here. When @Miller 1098 flew over from Wales to Philly to fly with me out to California to get a Z3 ///M, we had some time between his arrival and our flight so I took him over to Geno's for a couple of cheesesteaks.

We could go to the show and then go somewhere for lunch like Geno's or Nick's Roastbeef or somewhere for dinner or just meet for the show. If I get up to Philly sometime, I'll let you know and we could meet for a few minutes,(John's water ice at 7th and Christian?) I'll PM you. Glad you're with us..............Frankie
