Hi All

I had a parasytic battery drain on my car which turned out to be the Sat Nav unit that was coming to life when the car was locked.

Removing fuse 49 resolved this issue, however it also stopped the Phone Bluetooth and stopped the screen from opening (thereby also stopping me from choosing radio channels, setting the clock etc etc).

I have therefore removed the unit and put the fuse back in. The phone bluetooth now works again and the screen rises but shows no information - I am guessing that the display comes from the unit?

So the question is, is there any other way to show information on the screen and select radio stations/set the clock etc (what do people without SatNav do? Do they even have the pop up screen?) or do I need to get a refurbished unit to install that ?

I am not bothered about having SatNav - I prefer WAZE but I would like to have the rest of the functionality

Thanks in advance, Bert

Thanks Tony - I like the idea of both of these, especially the top one, however as his never had Sat Nav then I am assuming the "brain" must be in the radio unit. If you see the top one his radio has LCD displays whereas mine is the one in the 2nd video which doesnt and uses the pop up screen for the display which makes me assume that in mine (and the 2nd video) the radio unit is actually just "dumb buttons" and all the brain stuff must go on in the Sat Nav unit :arghh:

I'm in the same boat, luckily mine is still functioning but I would like to upgrade it.

My worry with the fixed screen is the visibility lost.
