Lightning on this forum has the cleanest 3.0 you'll find anywhere.
It just so happens that many others are looking too.
There's an auto on car and classic with 35k, looks good.
if your near Manchester have a look at rockvale , not cheap but only sells decent cars and has a few in stock so you could compare models if you haven't had a z3 before etc
And Lightning's is probably the best value, though still not cheap.
I hope you have deep pockets sir as @Paulro is quite correct. They are desirable cars now most can't afford a Z3M but the gap is rapidly narrowing.

Agree with the above. The 3.0 Z3s are getting rarer and rarer. For a low mileage in excellent condition you may end up paying around the 10k mark. You may well be better off getting a low mileage Z4 3.0si

Good one starting at 6k on eBay today.
Have a look. There's 3, one is too much money but lovely car, non sport, the other has a lot of miles but also looks good.
Then the one above. Lower miles, sport manual.
Unless you are looking for a garage queen don't count out cars with higher miles, higher mileage often means they have been maintained and will not need a lot of TLC when bought.

How much do you guys think the blue non sport is worth on auto trader, needs a small amount of paint on a few scuffs but overall ok. On for £9500

There's a couple around at that money. If you use it lots then I don't think it's great business because there's a few around at say 60-75k miles at a lot less money.

I went and saw it looked nice garaged all its life etc, also I had a look at the black one not to bad but has been parked outside for the last 8 years and a bit of rust under the bonnet various nuts etc and patches starting to come through on panels as well all under the bonnet, air con pump didn't won't to kick in so possible problem there and with the roof where the metal trim on the inside,where the clips to lock it in are paint was flaking from the alloy trim and showing oxidation is that normal.

Depending on what you want the car for and what you want to spend don't discount a higher mileage car. My 3.0 has done 124k and I've just had the ccv valve replaced and the cam cover gasket. The engine now is as smooth as any other and pulls like a train. Also I've yet to drive a Z3 at any mileage on original suspension and bushes that doesn't need them replacing NOW. I personally would buy a well maintained car and save money in the budget to do all the important replacements straight away so you can enjoy it.
This is assuming you are like me and just want to drive it everywhere...

I agree with this line of thinking but... if the car was low mileage and fully sorted it would be the best of both worlds. But expect to pay for it...
The bottom line is the better value if you just want to drive it (ignoring investment potential) could quite probably come from a higher mileage and well maintained car.

I think we all still have 100,000 miles subconsciously in our minds as being the point that a car becomes worn out, (me included). With one eye on resale value it is usually better to buy one that allows you to use it as much as you want to and still be below this psychological barrier when the time comes to sell. I agree though that a well sorted and maintained car in good cosmetic condition should be the priority when buying over mileage on the clock. There was a Z3 for sale recently with 265,000 on the clock!
