I just bought my new 98 z3 three weeks ago so I don't know a lot about maintenance and proper care. How do you treat a rag top to water proof it and how do you remove haze for rear window.
Thanks
Bob

Welcome to the forum Bob :)
I'm sure somebody will be along to help you soon ;)

Hi Bob,

There are various treatments available for your soft top. I've always used the Autoglym hood cleaner and proofer hit as per the link below. It's available in the US, so you shouldn't have too much problem tracking it down.

It's a 2 stage cleaner and proofer, and comes with a hard sponge to help you scrub the dirt out.

Another well respected company is http://www.renovointernational.com/, and I know you can buy there stuff in the US as well.

As for the plastic screen I've always used Autoglym Super Resin Polish (although someone recently mentioned not to for some reason!), but it's worked for me so far!

:welcome: Bob - looks like a nice motor.
Agree with Gary's comments on hood (rag top) care - also regular vacuuming helps keep it in good condition.

:welcome: Bob, from Bonzo and Z3lda. For all things Z3 related go to the Z3 knowledge base section. Also the Z3 roadster site has a good one. Anything written by Mike Fishwick is the gospel. I find them both very helpful.
:drinks: Cheers, Bonzo

Another cleaner/polish for the rear window is Greygate . Available on eBay Bob. Excellent also for keeping headlight lenses clear and bright too.

Contrary to popular belief the Hood is naturally waterproof, and just needs a regular deep clean

They have to get wet to be waterproof, if memory serves. Really going to darts now.:)
