Hi all

Name is Peter McC location Crawfordsburn NI zeddy 2001 Z3 2.2i Dakar yellow with hard top for the winter - query - does anyone know where to go to get a good sill repair inner structural and outer job done - will travel ? Rough cost ?

Hi and welcome from me in Scotland about to be former Dakar owner

The outer sills are bolt on if corroded a new one is just shy 200 quid from Bmw
plus paint etc .
Having owned a Dakar for 10 yr now i can tell you that you have practically no chance of finding 2nd hand panels in yellow.

Inner sill

There must be someone in Northern Ireland who could do welding.
This is what it should look like
One potential could be if yours is wrecked if you were to talk nicely to one of the forum breakers and cross thier palms with some silver they may be persuaded to cut said section out of a breaker if they had a better bit and post it to you then you could get some to cut and weld it in then new sill on top.
But thats assuming inner sill is beyond fixing
Dont know you would need to ask.

I was trying to source new OEM parts - its a present for the better half so unreasonable cost is expected- I

Outer sill pretty much Bmw only
What you could ask is your dealership will give you any discount for being a forum member a few of the uk mainland ones will offer discount for us

This may help this is all the panel work part numbers for my 1999 2.8

Bmw does list an inner sill you would need to check what you can still order from Bmw .
