Evening all!

I’m now on my 2nd z4 and hoping someone could point me in the right direction. My e85 roof motor has stopped working and I’m wondering if there is anyone you guys can recommend to repair it? I’ve heard they can be resurrected but have no idea how to do this. The people in the know on the “z4forum” don’t seem to want to offer any help, so I’m wondering if anyone here can help?

I’m a total BMW fan and have owned Zeda for the past 6 years. Daily drive is an M135i, which is an absolute beast but still not as special as the zed.

Few photos as I know these are always appreciated!

Plenty of people on here can help with your roof issues. I love the stealth look of your zed, very nice

Hi from Mansfield. I understand you can have the roof motor relocated away from where water collects. @billz has his done up Newcastle way i believe.

Hi @Danzzzz

I'm sure I've admired your zed many a lunch time - hoo farm? The maxton design skirts and tail first caught my eye. Been debating both for my zed.

Absolutely love the halo headlights!!

Anyway, I hope you've manage to get the roof motor sorted. We've had some beautiful weather lately!

Wow, yes, my unit is on Hoo Farm! Do you come past in a Zed? I’m always on the look out for fellow Z drivers.

I debated the maxton kit for a while but the ease of fitting and price swung it, really pleased with them.

Yeah the halos look great but they’re a real pita to do. The hardest bit splitting and resealing! With the facelift lights, they do freshen up the look.

I most certainly do. My work is off Edwin Ave.

Here's my zed https://www.instagram.com/e85dave/
Not bad when she's clean, difficult as she's my daily.

Totally! I did get a little excited when I saw your modified Zed on the estate. There was a Z4 Coupe kicking around Hoo Farm last summer, but not seen it so far this year.

I'm in two minds about the maxton kit. It's defiantly a decent price. Your zed is the first one I've been able to get a cheeky peek at with the kit on. To be honest, I only had a quick look. Didn't want to annoyà the owner - some people get real funny when seeing random dudes loitering around their car.

For the halo lights I've looked at plug in and play units. To scared to start cutting open the seals and worry about condensation (which I get in one headlight anyway) in the winter months.

If I see your unit open, I'll come say hello.. if you don't mind.

Yeah pop in and say hi whenever your free / passing. If you see the Zed or m135 parked, then I’m in work. Tbh the Zed isn’t my daily so it won’t be there as much but hopefully, once the roof is fixed, it’ll there more often when the suns out.

Yeah I looked at the plug and play headlight units but heard good and bad things, so went with cutting them open. I used a dremel on mine but been told a small reciprocating daw does a better job

If you want to arrange a suitable time, I’d be happy to make sure I bring it work and you could have a good look at the Maxton kit. Same as with your black car, being gloss black kit, it looks factory fitted. It’s not quite the same shade of black but not noticeable.
