Well that was a cracking day out all round. Honestly I'm just gobsmacked at how impressive the Z4M is in all respects, slightly let down by tyres not really up to track life. Not once was I left with a feeling I was going outside my limits, and felt nowhere near the limits of the car. My limits on track are relatively low due to this being only my second serious track day.

Clearly the new front discs had got nowhere near bedding in despite doing 500 road miles on them. After a short session of what felt like brake fade they improved drastically and were spot on for the rest of the evening. Didn't count the laps but reckon somewhere around 45-50 in total.

I like to arrange a few of these track days a year, they're so much more enjoyable with friends. We had 5 cars this time and had a double garage to ourselves. I was in the coupe as per norm, Gaz in his Z4M, Dom in his 3.0 Z3, Luc in his 2.0 MX5 and our friends in the Zenos E10S which after 2/3 laps had lapped everything on track from Crossbows to Caterams.

Really enjoyable evening weather was perfect. I think Gaz might be investing in some new tyres =))

A cracking evening and what a laugh. I can say that @GazHyde was pushing his M. The tyres were giving a lot of squeals. Then in the coupe with @Lee and listening to the tyres howl ;) Great being a passenger for a lot of fun.

A great evening rounded off with a stop at services on the M25. Roll on the next one.

Track day, its the best fun you can have with your trousers on.....I need to do another  Wonder if the chuckle bus would manage it 🤔 certainly wouldn't need to worry about brake fade ;)

We’re just talking about where we’ll go next. One more track day before the End of the year.

This is a cool photo, shows us all crammed into one double garage.

Having had few issues during the day other than with tyres I've figured out something that was bothering me on the day. I'd mentioned to Lee a couple of times that it felt like I had "sticky steering" which occurs on . We put it down to the tyres sliding through lack of grip and I put up with it - honestly not the worst, just occasional periods of light steering when turning in.

Yesterday morning I got up to move the car off the drive and the power steering pump is making all the noises. This was a second hand pump off eBay to replace the previous one which was whining badly. This one is clearly taking failure to the next stage with the noise it's making above the original one. Clearly the issue felt on track was it being unable to build and maintain pressure in the pump and it giving a slipping sensation when turning.

Ho hum. Got another one on the way from Autodoc. I'd go OEM but they are around £500 and I've got an expensive month with Mr Vanos dropping down soon and an inspection 2 in August. A pattern one will do for now and I'll add a new OEM one to the future to do list (which is a very long list!).
