@handsomejackuk @colb met up with @Davester2.2sport late this afternoon at Magor services on the Welsh side of M4 for a Royal Steering wheel to be fitted to Daves 2.2. Job completed by Al with a pause for coffee, battery reconnected and no airbag light, success. Did put a code reader on it as the EML has lit up again, fault code points to Lambda sensor pre Cat on Bank 1 so thats the next job on the list. Codes cleared for time being but its expected to return, car runs fine otherwise.

yeah wheel fitted was a slightly different air bag than i been used to fitting on my 2 z3's and the connector for the air bag was a really tight fit so much so that i had to scrape some of the plastic off the airbag connector with what tools i had with me... didnt have a file to enlarge the hole, some flashing on the die casting in the steering wheel... so screwdriver used to scrape connector to fit, not ideal in a services car park, then we didnt realise that Royal dont ship the wheel with the side plastic covers, so quick call to Royal and use of bmw tool kit screwdriver to remove the side plastic pieces and we got there eventually... and to top it all Dave had been there a bit before us so had to pay £12 parking as first 2 hrs free... just hope we didnt stay over 2 hrs, as dont want a £200 fine... nice afternoon out though had roof down all day and took a little detour back through caerleon leaving @colb wondering where i had gone, i had to get home to get food on For Mrs Handsomejack....
