Robs 1.9 Z3 in the Shed today for new rear springs, offside had snapped and nearside showing usual rust, always change as a matched pair. Stripping the old ones out went very well with the car on the lift. New rubber top and bottom hats installed with the new springs, both went in with a little help from a prybar.
Only stripping down once the wheels were off was to disconnect the lower shocker bolt and the anti rollbar drop link, trailing arm then allowed to drop enough to fetch the springs out and the new ones in. NAPA brand springs from Autodoc were used. Road tested and the clunk from the broken spring has been resolved, car drives nice and smooth.
