Looking at a 3l z4 at weekend, everything seems to be in order, is there any obvious things I should be looking for, I'm not that mechanical minded! Currently own 3l z3 so expect performance etc to be about the same. Any tips/advice appreciated.

As Cooper asks, which year and model would be useful info - earlier 3.0's are the M54B30 which is shared with the Z3 3.0. Later are the N52B30, which I have and is cracking. A very different engine mechanically to the M54 as it has an electric water pump for example, but is generally bullet proof from what I've read.

But pretty much the same things to look at as a Z3, obvious additions to the list would be that the roof works smoothly. Original springs are prone to snapping, but i'd imagine they've likely been changed already.

Hi Gaz, I was wondering how you have been :)

I think there is also the N54 twin turbo 3.0 right, in the E89 series. Damn, those are nice cars!

I have negotiated a better price if i want it:whistle:
Looks like an E85, probably has the M54B30 {I have that engine as well]. I cannot believe how cheap cars are over there!

If you get the last 7 digits of the VIN we can let you know everything about that car!

@benf it's the M54B30 so basically bullet proof, just the usual issues we see with that engine on the Z3.

N54 twin turbo 3.0 right
Single turbo but twin scroll. Produces decent numbers standard, and can be relatively easily tweaked for really good numbers!

Oh, and I'm good thanks Cooper :)

Lools like @t-tony twin. Looks good value to me if it's a decent thing.

I saw that needs questioning
It could well be from another car, but worth checking for it underneath anyway..
Could be the oil filter housing gasket, which makes a big mess but is easy to fix, however that means a further money off opportunity..
