Z4 Large noise in rear when top up.

Rick here.I have a 2015 Z4 IS 3.5.
I put the top down and forgot I had a couple bags in truck. Top stopped and I raised… since then I have a big noise the comes from the left rear when top is up and I go over any bump. No noise when down… anyone had a similar problem?

Hi Rick, sounds like you maybe bent something out of shape when you put the roof down. Have a good look around when you put the roof down. Does the roof warning light go off ok?

the roof light goes off like always. This was a foolish mistake. Had a bag in each side of trunk.. forgot they were ther and hit the top down button. The sound radiate on left side behind drivers seat. Roof seams to seal properly..

I will have a look at my car in the morning Rick and see if I can spot what may be wrong. In the mean time if you check the black metal piece which is fixed to the side of the trunk by 3 nuts (13mm) on studs you should be able to tell if they've been moved from their original position? Was the contents of the bag fairly firm or soft?

By the way I'm guessing from the picture that you're in the USA maybe?

In US
The bag on one side was soft. The other side had a solid object in it.

If the solid object was on the left (drivers) side that could be why that side of the roof was strained.

That is excatly where it was. The drivers side. Any suggestions on how to fix?
