Phoned a guy - he is selling a car, but maybe will have a hardtop not sold with car. Will see tomo. If so - a drive to Scotland then!

Found one in silver on Ebay with fitting kit, cover and hoist in Walsall this morning £5/600 so far

Thanks mate, missed this one. They do come up on e-bay often, but mostly wrong colour. I anyways won't need till winter so can wait. I've figured out how to subscribe to e-bay updates so hope not to miss another one.
Car & Classic still have the Newsnow Classified advertised one for sale complete with fixing kit £795
can't find it. well, I one hand I am still tempted to get one. In other - perhaps a 700-1000 quids could be spent better in current unstable situation, or even better - saved. I am not excluding being kicked off out of here in next couple of years, so hardtop won't help a lot then

I've seen plenty Z3's with hardtop a on but never a Z4.
Just had a Google and they look a bit bulky in silver but in black looks very good. Maybe you can find an unpopular colour one cheaper and wrap it black.
I wonder how much extra downforce that spoiler adds!
