A relation of mine is looking for a Z3 preferably a1.9. He’s looking for something drivable with MOT but requiring some TLC. Looking at around £1200 to £1500

Agreed I've seen some really nice M44 examples for that sort of money.
If you want to get down the other end of the spectrum, I'm starting to look to sell my 1998 1.9 M44 147k'ish Montreal blue, MOT till Aug 19.
This is far from an advert, but:
Mechanically good but negatives on the bodywork (usual places, front wings / rear wings / sill covers), seats don't move and I had to 'modify the boot to gain access ('zapper' key got nicked so I bought a service key, but didn't realise that doesn't open the boot.
Recent hood replacement
Recent shocks / springs / mounts all round
Good matching Toyo Proxes
Recent rear callipers & pads
Recent front pads (new discs on a shelf)
Polybushed lollypops and diff mount
Original Roll hoops (which I was thinking of removing and selling separately).
I was hoping for about £850 as is or £700 without the hoops.
