Z3 Virgin !!

Hi I am Paul aged 60 and my wife has just bought me for my 60th Birthday a BMW Z3 1.9 1998 S reg and i am having the time of my life - when the sun is shining!!!! however when it rains i get a drip from the roof seals around both doors. There is a manufactured split where the roof angles when its folding and water seems to get in there and run down to the front towards windscreen then drips onto seat anybody got any ideas?

Sounds like you have the A Pillar leak, have a look at this page and you will see one way of fixing it... https://zroadster.org/threads/bmw-z3-a-pillar-leak-fix.5341

It could also be that the seals need conditioning with Gummi Pfledge (German for Rubber Care). Easily ordered off the internet, and will soften them so you get a better seal against the windows.

Hi Paul, to the forum from me too in Staffordshire. If the fix Gary has mentioned doesn't work I think there is some adjustment of the height of the window glass from under the bottom of the door. I've never done it but am sure I've read about it somewhere. Somebody else may be able to explain better/have photos. Best of luck and enjoy your 60th birthday present.
BTW - 'Happy (Belated) Birthday', I have mine in a couple of months...
