Mick,
thats a long list! but basically i have endorsement deals with FretKing Guitars and Laney amps right now, so my main guitars are their Tele's two of the standard ones and I also have an eclat (their les paul) and a couple of esprit 3's which are a firebird type guitar with P90's, my other go to Tele is a "partscaster" made of a swamp ash tele body with a quarter sawn maple neck and all wilkinson hardware..it has a 72 fender tele custom humbucker in the front and a bareknuckle single in the back, albert collins would have loved the back pick up on this thing and jim Mullen would have been happy with the front....it's a very versatile guitar.
I also have an ibanez 335 and just sold a gibson lucille as I wasn't playing it much, as well as a US 72 tele custom re issue, a 90's japanese Tele..(fujigen factory) and an 80's les paul standard which never gets played as the FretKing is so much better..
I have a roadworn strat of "questionable origin" sunburst with a maple board..as well as mexican 70's re issue strat in blonde(3 bolt neck with the big headstock)
acoustic wise I have a Breedlove for most of my acoustic work but currently have a 70's guild D25 in the shop for repairs..I also have a taylor 414 with the cutaway, both of the newer acoustics have a fishman classic 4 preamp system and I use an AER compact 40 amp on small gigs and on bigger ones I use it as my onstage monitor, I also use an LR Baggs para acoutsic DI and a TC electronics Holy Grail reverb pedal.
I have 2 nylo strings one Burguet student (rosewood and cedar) and a Cheap(ish) flamenco I bought yesterday which is spruce and cypress.
effects wise I have a boss GT-8 and GT 100 both of which which I route into the power amp section of my laney LC 50 mk 2 with 2x12 fender supersonic cabinet..(jensen speakers) I also have lots of separate pedals..ibanez TS9 an original Boss OD1 and various other bits about 20 in total, but for ease prefer programmable stuff hence the Boss multi units..amps wise i have also got a Fender blues deluxe and junior and a peavy classic 30..
I have missed lots of stuff i'm sure but I don't play them all these days and even when touring generally heavily favoured Telecasters!
I do love 335s and have never played a bad one ,i'm sure yours is a peach.. but I just always found myself veering towards 330's with P90's and stuffing the body with foam..
style wise I am session player so have to cover a bit of everything but as a guide all the blues boys think i'm a jazzer and all the jazzers think i'm a blues player..in reality i'm a blues boy with some clever scales under my belt!..
I have played with Chaka Khan ,Womack and Womack and quite a few others over the years and am really a blues/jazz/soul/R "n" B type player, think steve cropper, nile rogers, steve lukather, larry carlton, george benson..these are my touchstones playing wise although I love anything that is quality really...and love to rock out when its called for..
P.s Mick i'm still learning too and feel like 10 lifetimes wouldn't be enough to cover all the styles I want to...my only regret in playing is that I won't have time to do it all!..i'm sure you feel the same.
best
joe
