Hello All, My Z3 has 98k (2000, 1.9L)

I'm based in Brighton (south coast) and can travel to the Midlands and beyond, My usual mechanic is close to semi-retirement and has stopped doing major jobs, hence wondering if anyone knows of a decent mechanic/garage in or around Brighton or Midlands area, for when I visit, to replace my timing chain....?

Doesn't have to be a 'branded' garage, my usual mechanic was a work from a home guy, and a genius, who probably saved me thousands over the 15+ years I used him.

I've googled timing chain replacement on a Z3, I understand that it's best to replace every 90k. I don't know if mine has been done or not.

Is replacing the chain on a Z3 every 90k true...?

Baker.

Just had a look in my manual doesn't specify a change time for chain .
What I would say with correct maintenance ( oil changes at correct time with good quality oils) the chains in these engines will easily crack 200k.
