Hi all - a few things for you all.........

Thing 1 - does anyone know a Z3 specialist in or around Surrey who can do some works for a lower cost than a BMW dealer. Need new bushes and rear suspension top mounts, plus new brake discs and pads. So fairly standard stuff but BMW is quoting well over £1,200 for this which sounds extortionate.

Thing 2 - I am considering a paint correction and diamanti coating, plus my wheel hubs and brake calipers painting so they look all nice and clean. Nothing silly, just a nice silver or gunmetal grey or something. There is a place in Dunstable called Unique Detail but wondered whether anyone had any recommendations (including whether it is worth doing!!!)

Thing 3 - how much of a difference does a front strut brace make? And does anyone have a recommendation on what one to use? Can they be fitted easily?

Thanks in advance!

...and you should see our waiting list...

I'm not sure how far you are willing to travel, but Emtec in Salisbury used to do all my servicing. Incredibly knowledgeable and not prone to charge for work that isn't required.

I'd make a day out of it as Salisbury is a nice enough town to waste a day in.

I wouldn't bother with a strut brace until you have the suspension sorted, the Z3 is very capable on fresh OE quality components. You may well end up doing what I did with my first Z3 and mask a more serious issue. The strut brace i fitted certainly cured the wayward handling from a leaking strut and failed ball joints...

If after a suspension refresh you still want to fit one its a 10 minute job, you'll be on the phone to your insurers longer trying to explain what one is...

Hi
Just my opinions
1. Worth chatting to the Zedshed guys (I'm sure they would do it for £1,199.99 )
2. Definitely worth doing had my 2.8 detailed amazing difference plus have a look at what @Russell O did to Staceys Panther theres a thread on here somewhere, callipers etc. do yourself there are kits out there or just buy the paint clean up and paint on.
3. I have a strut brace cant say I ever noticed any difference after fitting it but would probably need to remove it to be sure, looks nice though.

I know, I like pushing the limits sometimes and I've probably stepped way over the mark with this one =))
