Anyone on here own a Z3 with soft close windows? (they drop a bit when you open the door and raise when you close it)

I have it on my June 2000 Z3MC, works fine on both driver & passenger doors.

That would suggest to me that it's possible with the Roadster with a bit of rewiring/plugging in.

It's not on the Z3 apart from the coupe to the best of my knowledge (having owned two Z3s, a MR and MC).
Our 1997 E36 convertible has it.

Saw a 97 1.9 with it today and I think @Steve Medlock has it on his?

It's on the Z3 coupe, not the roadsters. It could be as easy as a bit of NCSExpert coding in the ZKE4.

Be careful about what you wish for. The Z3 Coupes have a history of cracked window motor mounts caused by the "soft close" feature. The window motors work far more often on the Coupes than the motors on the roadsters, so the roadsters don't have this problem. It a welding job to fix the window motor mounts.

Makes sense, it seems a few roadsters have either been coded or had some odd parts fitted.
