Z3 sill corrosion

Hi All,
In my searches for a Z3/4 I’ve come across a 2.2 Z3 locally (unseen as yet) that ticks pretty much all the boxes - heated seats, service history. Checking it’s MOT’s however, it’s had a ‘nearside sill corrosion’ advisory. I appreciate that this is a “how long is a piece is string” type question but assuming it’s just the sill and not bodywork, what’s the kind of cost involved in sorting that out before painting?

BMW still sell sills at around £160 each, so not a big expense in the grand scheme of things. You can also get GRP sills too from aftermarket sellers

That's the sill cover - not the sill itself.
The cover is just a decorative piece that will corrode and look unsightly. The sill itself is a big girder-esque lump underneath the cover (the section with holes as can be seen in this photo) - this is the structural bit and the likelihood to cause an MOT failure. If this is rotten then I believe you have to fabricate new ones as they can not be ordered from BMW anymore.

Unfortunately, I’ve not got the space nor tools to tackle most of that. Wish I had now that I’ve got time!
