I've seen various types on this topic. I have added bits of other types and come up with some which I can produce for £12 inc p&p for 1 seat or £25 for 2 seats. Reduces the "submarining effect" when you're in a hurry and keeps you in your seat. Also gives support to your legs at the knees.

Tony.

ps. I can post pictures if anyone is interested.
I found a similar system in the US but if you add P&P to their price it's almost twice the cost.

Definitely need more details on this Tony. Guessing this is the process of raising the front seat a smidgeon by packing it out with things?

If so, I'm fed up with the appalling seating position BMW settled on. Unlike socks, one size does not fit all!

I think mine would be just slightly higher the Barry's kit Hugh, but I have been using it for 1 week now and sitting in the passenger seat feels really strange now.

Only as an experiment Ash, just to see how " flat " it felt.;)

Tony.

ps. Did you ever measure how much lift your seat had with that kit?

So here is my seat rake modification idea.
This is what you need. This is "my" kit.

They will end up looking like this. Fitting instruction will be sent. An easy job should only take 1/2 an hour each side. It will raise the front of the seat by 24mm, The seat up/down and forwards/backwards motors still work fully. You may just lose the very last bit of seat recline, this doesn't bother me.

If anyone would like some and I get enough interest I will order the parts and make kits up.

How to fit these parts.

1. Move seat back to allow access to front seat mountings and loosen the nuts.
2. Move seat forwards to allow access to rear mountings. Loosen and remove bolts (16mm) usually very tight.
3. Move seat back and remove front mounting nuts.
4. Switch off ignition and REMOVE the key.
5. Lift seat clear of mountings and support with a block of wood or similar.
6. Fit a small washer onto the stud and fit the "tube" nut onto stud and tighten.
7. Take the nut supplied and the original nut and lock them together at the end of the new stud. Fit the stud into the "Tube" nut and tighten.
8. Split the 2 nuts and remove them leaving the stud extension in place.
9. Do the same for the other front stud and place the large washers onto each stud.
10. Lower the seat back onto the studs and loosely fit the original nuts.
11. Place key in ignition , turn on and move the seat forwards and fit the two rear bolts. (start both BEFORE tightening anything)
12. Tighten rear mountings and move seat back and tighten front mountings.

Exactly how I did mine Tony, well nearly, I tacked a couple of washers to the top at the height I wanted and used a high tensile bolt to keep the profile low.

Works fantastically well, the car is much more comfortable to drive. I can attest to that with two 400 mile trips under my belt. Much better to sleep in too if you want/need to break up a trip like that.
Heartily recommend this mod.
Iain.
