Hi again as I am new to the site.I am another member having issues with seats not moving forward to allow access the rear bolts on my 1997 z3.I read somewhere that if you can remove the drive part attached to the long worm shaft that I can move or try to move the stuck track. Before attempting this job I thought I had better find a replacement gear housing. My question is what is the part called that the motor drive is attached to for moving the seat forward and back.My motor works fine but I cannot get the drivers side outside track to move. Thanks Gary

Don’t forget not to put the ignition on when the seat is out, otherwise the airbag light will come on and need resetting.
Hopefully this diagram helps?

Have you tried gently tapping the track with a small hammer whilst operating the switch?
Quite often these seats, once set in position, are not moved for years and the parts freeze.

Tony.
