Evening folks - my name is Dan. Nice to meet you all!

So, I don't actually own a Z3, but am trying to find some information for my mother-in-law, as the father in law is quite ill and they have one in the garage that she may sell.

I don't have a photo as yet, but it is in pristine condition by all accounts, and is a v low mileage for it's age (19.5k). It also has a unique paint scheme and interior upholstery (Mora edition?)

I've asked for as much details as possible - please see below.

Just wondered if anybody could give us any information and a rough market value of the car?

Cheers for any help!

Dan

Where are you based?
if in the UK, be aware that prices can be on the low side. Anything that is priced to match the car can take a while to sell as there are a lot of cars that hide a multitude of sins but are cheap.
You could try car and classic to give you a value that they believe the car could fetch on auction, avoid webuyanycar as they offered me £1,800 for mine😳🙄 they aren’t interested in cars like Z3’s because they just flip them into the market.
Mark Edwards at Rockvale in Stockport is always looking for low mileage Z3’s with an interesting story, give him a call, he may be able to advise.

All the best with the car sale

Thanks, we’re based in Oxfordshire - but they are in Bury, so Stockport not so far. I’ll give them a try tomorrow..

Probably, but I really like that colour personally, though never seen one in the flesh.

<20k miles too............... very low, I dunno; for people that aren't interested in the engine size and just love the Z3 shape, (which is why we all love it) It has appeal. 20k miles - that's low - and 'individual'.

<20k miles on it - professional auction or advertise well with lot of pics, sounds like a minter. <20k are VERY rare.

Good luck

And therefore worth much more than the majority of the average milers currently on the market. A pal of mine sold his 22k 1 owner TR5 for £10k more than the perceived market ‘value’. The sale took longer, but he held out and got what the car is worth, he sold it to a collector. Please don’t give it away, there are very few cars like that left…

Years ago I was selling a VW golf GTI with more extras than you can shake a stick at. Had it out front with a for sale sign. It was in good nick and I was asking way over the 'normal' market value.

My friends said "you won't find many buyers willing to pay that".

I said "I don't need 'many'. I just need 'one'".

I wouldn't get carried away. The 2 litre engine will hold the value back, though it may well suit the car fine, and special colours are always love or hate. Very low mileage, one owner and service history obviously help its case massively, but I would say £5-8k max depending on condition.

At the end of the day it is still a 22 year old car, so some things will need replacing, and away from enthusiast forums, the market interest in most foreign two-seater sports cars is limited.

That's my opinion, but you can only try it where you think it should be, and be prepared to wait for the one buyer you need.

I did the same when I sold my TR4 and also my 1.9 Z3 yes it takes longer but when people that are looking see so many that are not what they say they are when they see a good one joib done but it took 15 months to see my Z
