1: remove passenger seat
2 loosen centre console, remove 2 screws at the back, then remove ash tray and remove screw underneath, clip out alarm panel.
3: remove 2 screws behind alarm panel from rear storage unit, remove hoops if you have them then the the 3 screws from the
rear of the storage unit and lift it out.
4: remove door seal and rubber by the roof, remove the side panel with speaker so as to find electric cables under carpet and remove roof support arm,
5: lift carpet on back shelf to find where the wires come in from the boot, this is where the new wires and hydraulic arm will has to pass through from the boot into the rear of the car. remove rubber protecter and open new holes for the new cables.
6: the motor needs to be mounted at a angle, then connect the wire cables, and then connect the earth cable, pass through the lifting arm and connector for the micro switch into the back of the car.
7: the connector for the roof micro switch is under the carpet behind the seat, you need to fit the micro switch to the roof, carefully secure the cables so they do not snag.
8: connect the lifting arm bottom first then lift the soft top by hand to connect the top joint, loosen the T switch on motor for Manuel roof lifting.
9: the up and down button connecter is at the back where the alarm light is, you can mount your button there. and you are just about done.
tighten down the T switch on the motor so its in hydraulic mode, then start the car put your foot on the brake and try the roof button to close, you have to press your foot
on the brake to activate it.
if you want the up/down button in your front panel of your car, it takes a bit of effort. you will need to pull (carefully) the cable from the rear, lifting the centre console and pulling it down the side to find where the wire goes, you will need to cut the cable shroud and carpet under the console (so it will not show) you will need to pull the wire so it will reach the front panel, wrap insulating tape around the wires you cut the shroud off, and put them back into their original place. remove the gear lever and surround and under surround as well, so you can thread the cable to the front panel. you can then choose where to fit your up/down switch.
To operate your new electric roof, to open, release the two locking handles lift roof to activate micro switch, press the brake and press the down button - it should slowly lower the roof, then press the up button with your foot on the brake and the roof will come up, then simply lock the roof as normal. now you have to put your car back together. it took me about 7 hours to do from start to finish, it was a learning curve to say the least.
I hope this may be of some use to anyone who is thinking of doing the same.
Dave

ADDITION :

As a foot note (a spurs fan in a coupe) supplied me with some new boot carpet to fit the new roof motor, and get rid of the old cd changer carpet, as I did not get a cd change when I bought the car, I think it look much bigger and tidy.
