Z3 projects

My name is Mark Evans and I live in Bangor, Co Down in N Ireland.
I bought a 1999 z3 for the summer as a change from my previous mx-5s and was more impressed than I had expected.
I then found a fairly mint z3 2.8 and have ordered a Tribute 507 kit for it. I will post developments once the project is started.

I have a problem in that the bonnet release on the early car has stopped functioning. Does anyone have any smart ideas?

Good luck with your Tribute kit. I have two. Please consider a build thread in the Rebody section (where you'll find another 507 kit build).

For the bonnet release, I'm told that it's possible to flip the catches from underneath with a long enough screwdriver or similar. Also, releasing the inside lever from the panel and pulling (although without the advantage of leverage) may do the trick. It all depends what the problem actually is.

Anyway, once you have it released, you can't introduce too much oil or grease into the mechanisms.
