Z3 - officially the best first project car!

I was just listening to the Auto Alex podcast (youtuber, former presenter of Car Throttle YT channel) and the topic in question was what is the best first project car you can buy for sub-£3000, and the overwhelming consensus was the Z3!

I'd really recommend the YT channel and podcast to anyone not already subscribed but who enjoys car content!

Haha yes I've seen that, but the podcast is specifically "which is the best first project car?"

Well, there may be others on here who don't like the look of youngsters doing stuff, what with their loud pop music and everything. Perhaps they missed it, and that would be a shame.

Supercharging the 1.9L a nice mod bar the belt problem.

That supercharged 1.9 cost him £650. He basically bought a supercharger kit at a knock-down price, but with a Z3 attached to it as well.

The number plate is worth around £750 on its own!

That series is what inspired me to go for it, instead of just thinking 'it would be nice one day...'

Quite amazing how much swearing you can get from one non-car-guy. Almost enough to put some people off, I'd have thought.
