Hi guys
Has anyone else had a problem with their indicator stalk?
It works perfectly on right signals switches off when turned straight as it should, but on a left turn the stalk clicks back when straight only for the indicators to carry on flashing, the annoying thing is it does'nt do it every time, its about a 50/50 split whether it stops or not.
When it stays on it takes a lot of flicking up and down on the stalk to get it to stop and if turned off manually the chances of it stopping are even greater, it's done this since pretty much since I've had the car (3 years) but seems worse lately.
I had the wheel off recently (will post some pictures of re-covered wheel soon) and took the opportunity to remove the indicator stalk assembly but could'nt see an easy way into the mechanism so gave it all a squirt of switch cleaner and replaced it, but no difference.
Any ideas other than replacement?

Sounds like a dodgy stalk to me, Did it work correctly before you changed the wheel?

Hi Brian
Removing the wheel made no difference to the operation of the switch, it is slightly more annoying now than it was when I first got the car 3 years ago but maybe that's just me getting more impatient with it.
Unfortunately I think a new part is the answer at somewhere near £200 I read somewhere, was just hoping someone here might just say 'easy fix mate just fiddle with this bit' always was a bit of a dreamer though.
Will probably carry on with it until I break it or it gives up on it's own.
Cheers, Dave

You will be able to get the part you need from one of our resident breakers, £20-£30 @spurs fan in a coupe @mrscalex etc. etc.

Worth trying a second hand one first.

I can sell you one. Does your car have OBC? Clock that shows mpg, temperature etc?

Hi
The car has done just short of 53000 miles so not very high.
Yes it does have obc, its the small round type with clock, air temp, mpg and mph average, remaining miles etc.
And yes please would be interested if you have one, don't happen to have drivers door handle as well perhaps, only want the little mechanism behind the lock that stops the constant revolving of the key?
Thanks for that.
Dave
