Hi Andy,these units came as spares with my previous z3 as the owner had fitted angel eyes.Would think he would have binned them if not reusable.

Metal adjustment rods freely rotate with pliers and move the bulb holders.
Don’t know if when new had Philips screw on end to retain black plastic adjustment screw,so possibly need new adjustment rods.
If anyone interested offer to reflect this.

I believe these early headlights have the glass lenses. I had the exact same pair you have and swapped the lenses over into my facelift lights. That should eradicate any future cracking or yellowing. They are worth having just for that reason.

All lights I believe fit all models. Earlier cars have a sidelight in the headlight and others in the bumper. I fitted headlights from a 98 car into a 2001 with no problems.

This is a really useful website explaining all about BMW Z3 headlights. It's in German so you will need to translate it. The term VFL relates to pre facelift FL of course facelift.
