Z3 hardtop spanner wanted

I have my hardtop ready to fit but am struggling to find the correct spanner . Can someone please point me in the right direction of how I can get hold of one please

You mean the one for the top regulator?
I also did not have one and used a spanner with pins. Worked like a charm.

It is the spanner to adjust the up & down movement of the 2 rear brackets attatched to the roof so it fits snuggly

Oh. I somehow managed to adjust mine from the two that are on the chassis.
I may have it done the wrong way, but it worked…

If I recall correctly it's just an ultra slim M24 flat plate spanner. You can make one quite easily from a piece of sheet steel or alternatively you could just grind a standard M24 spanner until it's thin enough to squeeze it in.

I actually got mine from an auto jumble stall selling old tools. I think I only paid 50p for it.

You might be able to make one from an old flat steel bicycle spanner. They aren't hardened steel and can easily be worked. You just need a vice, a file and may be a hacksaw

Is that the correct size

36mm which is the same as M24, as far as I'm aware..

M36 is not the same as M24 ???? Metric nuts and spanners are designated by the width across the flats. In my earlier post I said from memory that I thought the nuts in question were M24, and that is purely a guess from memory so make sure you measure your nuts.
