Z3 engine swap advice 2.8 M52

Looking for advice (usual comfort zone of Z4 M54 goodness is being abandoned) about how to change an engine on a Z3 M52 2.8

I've done engine changes before on E30's, but I wanted to check from those in the know...

Assume its doable from the top with an engine crane, bonnet off? its a like for like swap

Usual list of things to remove/disconnect:
Cooling
Electricals
PAS
Other ancillaries
Fuel lines
Exhaust

Best to disconnect the prop shaft and take the gearbox out with the engine

Advice on manifolds etc- usually do these off the car

As you can tell its been a while...

If it's got A/C you can get it all off without degassing. Remove all the front end and it comes out the front. But not in this heat?

Yeah I know what you mean about the heat

had to swap some front hubs on Steve’s z4- easy way to lose a few pounds
