Need some help / opinions. Car keeps cutting out or jolting or doesn’t sometimes start. Speedometer drops then go back up seems to happen more when cars warm but cars temp is fine. I unhook the battery leave it for a couple minutes re hook it then it seems to start up again. Took it to the garage today they replaced cam shaft sensor as that came up as a fault. Got some fuel as I was pulling out car just cuts out again go back to garage no faults come up on the machine. Now the car has a immobiliser a couple of close mates have said this could be the issue and now it’s booked in to have it removed next week so hopefully that will resolve it. Has anyone had any similar problems? Any ideas or help would be wonderful. Thank you 😊

Did they replace the (inlet) cam sensor with an OEM part or cheap aftermarket one? It’s not unknown for non genuine parts to fail almost immediately or even not work at all.

Try a oem sensor not cheap aftermarket ones, as @t-tony has already pointed out cheap ones are crap quality and often don't work or last long. Best stick to oem brands Bosch, Siemens and maybe Febi. I have had good parts from Hass brand. A lot of sensors on the market are made in China no matter the brand but quality of the parts is very questionable for the lesser brands that come from there.
