z3 chips

yes and its ok but only for a patient person, big tips is make sure the chip is 100% clean and if any rust use a Fibre Glass Scratch Pencil thingy and it will work great and last the life of the car though I used the fibre glass pencil to roughen up the paint in the chip anyway as I found the paint flowed better and stuck better but its tedious doing every little one, my front bumper has loads of road rash and its easier just to respray it depending on how the Sills go ;)

The best thing to do is to get your local paint shop to mix you up some paint to match the colour. Then as @Dickymint says you need to be very patient and really take your time. I would then once the Lacquer has been applied rub it down with 3000 grit and just machine polish to blend them in

There were a fair number on my Z3. I used the get the bonnet and front bumper resprayed solution! But it cost over £500.

Fabulous job though by my local BMW body shop.

I have repaired chips and some nasty damage before. I got a small tin of paint made up, cleaned, filled, filled again 24 hours later, wet sanded with 2000 then wet sanded with 3000. Used a DA polisher and it came out excellent. This is very tedious and time consuming and if you have many chips respray is far better.

The trouble is l am just rubbish at minor bodywork repairs!
I've tried and always looks worse than before....because a repair that you can see is often worse than the scratch itself.
So l've never attempted anything on the Z3.
