I'm starting this thread so that I actually follow through with the plans I have for the 2.8,
Having today sold my 1.9 I feel that now is the time to start this thread.

I've already had new discs fitted on the rear, as well as shoes and all the necessary sensors to the tune of £360 which i'm happy about. It will be going back some time next week for a new accelerator cable fitting and the MOT which i'm hoping will go well, as the garage said the car was a good one!

So, things I have planned are:

- Change seat bushes (should be done tomorrow)
- New alloys not sure which ones yet, suggestions?
- restore the soft top
- give the sills and wings a rust treatment, as there is a little bit of surface rust and slight bubbling
- Sports seats at some stage.

Those are the things I can think of at the minute.

Updates coming soon.

Connor.

I am too, I've heard a lot of horror stories from selling on eBay. The buyer was a decent bloke so that always helps.

Depends how much you want to spend Connor, I changed the whole light units for a pair of full chrome ones.

Good luck with the upgrades Connor. Keep us up to speed. You can get a de tango upgrade from @Southernboy. He'll be on now I've tagged him. The rear lights I got off eBay from a seller in Germany. Cost about £60 delivered and are fine. Side repeater lenses and cheap and readily available. Pic of my rear lenses.

Another option Connor is to replace you tired old filament bulbs with some LED type. The lights have much more modern look about them. They're easy to fit with an in line resistor, a very simple job, also I've fitted LED bulbs in the reversing lights too. Not an expensive mod but a big improvement.

That sounds like a good idea Tony, when the time comes I'll come knocking to find out how you did it.

So I've just done the seat bush fix, so much better.

However, the airbag light is on. I mustn't have plugged in one of the cables.

How do I get it off?

Did you have the ignition on at ANY time while you were removing the seats Connor? If you did it will have stored a fault code which you will have to clear. I bought a tool to do this from eBay a couple of weeks ago. There may be someone nearer to you than I am who might also have a re-set tool.

Tony.

ps. When ever doing anything with the seats, get the seat into the best position for removal and then switch the ignition off and take your key out of the ignition.

No key in ignition whatsoever. I think I didn't plug one of the plugs in that should have because I saw one that didn't seem to fit anywhere.

If you're lucky and locate the wiring connector, reconnect it, again with ignition off. There's a small chance the light may not come on again but if it does you'll need the re-set tool

I'll have a go at that then Tony.

How much did you pay for the reset tool?

It could be worth investing in one a they will always come in handy.

Yesterday I also fitted my new number plate. Used some double sided foam tape that my sister bought a couple of weeks ago. very impressed with the results, I didn't think it would stick the plate down with the curve of the front bumper but feels very firmly attached.

I also ordered a B800 airbag reset tool as reccomended by @t-tony to switch off the light.

I think the noise I mentioned in an earlier thread might be my front discs so I think i'm going to have a go at fitting them next weekend.
