Hello,
Im thinking about upgrading the stabilizer bars on my 4 cylinder Z3, right now I have 22.5mm at the front and 14mm at the rear.

I checked RealOem and the M Sport package for my car has 23.5mm at the front and the same 14mm at the rear.

As you know at the front we can use any e36 bar and in my country there are plenty of e36, the compacts that have 24mm for the 318tds and 23,5mm for the 316i. I also found that the e36 318tds touring has a 25.5mm that is also used on the Z3 Roadster M54 3.0 M Sports suspension and I found one very cheap.

Do you guys thing that 25.5mm would be too much without upgrading the rear one? or should I just stick with 24mm or 23.5mm?

Another option would be to upgrade the rear one to 15mm or 16mm which one do you think would work good using the 25.5mm?

Thanks

Depends on what you’re actually looking for.
A generality, depending on how you look at it:

Stiffer front bar increases under steer, or, decreases over steer.

Stiffer rear bar decreases under steer or increases over steer.

Neither sharpens initial turn in, that’s a function of camber, tyre grip and spring rate, again, that’s a hugely generalised statement.

Sorry, that may not be that helpful.

That’s what a stiffer ant-roll bar will do primarily.

My doubt is if upgrading just the front to 25.5mm and keep the 14mm rear would be bad? or should I just upgrade the front one to the 23.5mm and keep the 14mm rear as bmw did with the M Sport package?

Have a read through this thread, the ex member liked to modify his 1.9. Including the anti roll bars.
