Hi and from another 3.0 owner, I have also had my car for 10 years, nearly 11 and I have a;ways found the steering excellent. You say all the bushes have been replaced but does that include the rear suspension, that makes a difference as well. If it is the front causing the problems, it could well be the lollipop bushes.

Hi Caroline and welcome .
I replaced the rear bushes on the front control arms with poly (powerflex), makes an improved and very noticeable difference to the steering. You'll need to to have the tracking adjusted afterwards.

We are religious about tyre pressures and run on Falcon tyres.

First thing we did when we bought it was replace the rear suspension and sort the tracking.

There does seem to be more play in the wheel than I would ideally like in a car this powerful, but that may just be the way it is and I/we drive it in a way that acknowledges that.

You could do with driving another Zed to compare, then you'd know if there is something wrong.

That's not a bad idea. I'll talk through all of this with the mechanic ( good man, independent, family firm, big fan of this car) as it is due for a service. There are things suggested here that would be sensible to replace anyway on top of what we've done already. The strong strut trio we fitted ten years ago did make a substantial difference so it may just be that replacing little bits and pieces that are coming to the end of their life, cumulatively might make a lot of difference.
